What We Raise

Breeding Stock

Thoughtfully selected for sound structure, maternal ability, hardiness, and performance on pasture.

Grass-fed Lamb

Raised on pasture and forage for flavorful meat and responsible land stewardship.

Old Forest Farm raises Katahdin hair sheep on pasture in Somerville, Maine. We are building a flock selected for soundness, maternal strength, parasite resilience, and the ability to thrive on grass.

How We Farm

We raise sheep on grass because healthy pasture makes sound animals. We select for ewes that can thrive in Maine weather, lamb well, and earn their keep. The flock moves often. The grass gets rest. The sheep stay working, browsing, and walking.
